About Memory Monitor
Memory Monitor is a real-time monitor for your Mac's memory and CPU, right in the menu bar. It shows memory pressure, the memory breakdown (app, wired and compressed), swap, and per-core CPU load — with history, widgets and alerts — so you can see exactly what's happening at a glance.
System requirements: macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later, Apple silicon or Intel.
Main features
Live memory
Memory pressure (Normal / Warning / Critical) plus used, app, wired and compressed memory and swap usage, all at a glance.
CPU, per core
Total CPU usage and a per-core breakdown, with performance and efficiency cores shown separately on Apple silicon.
History & charts
Memory and CPU history over time with clean charts, plus CSV export to keep your data.
Menu bar & widgets
A customizable menu bar readout and widgets (Memory, and Memory & CPU with a history chart and per-core load).
Frequently asked questions
What does Memory Monitor show?
Memory pressure (the Normal / Warning / Critical state), used, app, wired and compressed memory, swap usage compared to your physical memory, and CPU usage with a per-core breakdown. Everything updates in real time in the menu bar.
Is my data private?
Yes. Memory Monitor reads memory and CPU statistics locally through standard macOS system APIs. It does not collect, store or transmit any personal data, and contains no analytics or tracking.
How often do the widgets update?
The menu bar updates in real time while the app is running. Widgets, like all macOS widgets, refresh periodically rather than every second, so each widget shows the timestamp of its latest reading.
What is included in Pro?
Pro unlocks extended history with CSV export, memory pressure and CPU alerts, full menu bar customization, and the widgets. The free version already provides a complete real-time monitor.
What are the system requirements?
Memory Monitor runs on macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later, on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. On Apple silicon it also distinguishes performance and efficiency cores.
