About MyIP
MyIP is a tiny menu-bar utility that tells you everything about your internet connection at a glance: your public IP, where it geolocates, who provides it, how fast it is and how it has been behaving over time — all without leaving the menu bar.
System requirements: macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, Apple silicon or Intel.
Main features
Public IP at a glance
Your current IPv4/IPv6 address right in the menu bar, with country flag, city and ISP — copy, Whois or geolocate in one click.
Connection quality
Live latency and jitter against 1.1.1.1, with a color-coded status (Good / Average / Poor / Offline) right on the menu bar icon.
Cloudflare speed test
Real download and upload tests against Cloudflare, on demand or scheduled, with a sparkline of your recent results in the menu.
History & widgets
24h, 7d and 30d charts for ping, bandwidth and IP changes, plus widgets for the home screen with live data and a mini map.
Frequently asked questions
What does MyIP show?
Your current public IP (IPv4/IPv6), the country, region, city and ISP that resolve it, live latency and jitter, on-demand download and upload speed, and a history of your ping, bandwidth and IP changes over the last 30 days.
Is my data private?
Yes. MyIP queries public IP and geolocation services to resolve your address, and runs speed tests against Cloudflare. It does not collect, store or transmit any personal data, contains no analytics or tracking, and history is kept locally on your Mac.
How does the speed test work?
MyIP performs real symmetric download and upload tests against Cloudflare endpoints, with a steady-state measurement that ignores TCP ramp-up. You can run it on demand from the menu, or schedule it every 30 minutes or 6 hours.
What is included in PRO?
PRO unlocks live ping and jitter monitoring, Cloudflare bandwidth speed tests, 24h / 7d / 30d history charts and all the home-screen widgets. The free version covers public IP, Whois and Geolocate. Customers of the original paid MyIP get a discounted Legacy upgrade.
What are the system requirements?
MyIP runs on macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. An active internet connection is required for IP lookup, Whois, geolocation and speed tests.

Privacy policy
Last updated: June 7, 2026
MyIP is designed with privacy in mind. The app does not collect, store or transmit any personal data about you. All history is kept locally on your Mac.
Data we collect
None. MyIP does not collect any personal data, usage analytics, crash reports or identifiers. No account is required to use the app.
Data we transmit
MyIP queries public IP services (such as ipify, ipwhois and ip-api) to resolve your IP, Whois and geolocation, and connects to Cloudflare to measure download and upload speed. No personal identifier is sent — only the standard IP queries needed to perform the lookup or the test.
Third-party services
MyIP uses ipify (IP lookup), ipwhois and ip-api (Whois & geolocation) and Cloudflare (speed test). It does not integrate any analytics, advertising, tracking or social SDKs.
Your rights
Since we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You can remove all local MyIP data at any time by deleting the app from your Mac.
