Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

FeedMuse ("the app", "we", "us") is a news reader for iOS, iPadOS and macOS. We built FeedMuse to be private by design. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. In short: we do not run analytics, we do not show ads, we do not sell or share your data, and we do not operate servers that store your personal content.

Data we collect

We collect no personal data on our own servers. FeedMuse has no user accounts and requires no sign-up. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.

Data stored on your device and in your iCloud

  • Your subscriptions and content: the feeds you add, articles, reading state, highlights, notes, categories and preferences are stored locally on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, synced through your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit). This data resides in your Apple account; we have no access to it.
  • Cached article text & images: to enable offline reading, article content you open may be fetched from its source and cached on your device (and synced via your private iCloud).
  • Diagnostics: the app keeps a small, local diagnostics log to help you troubleshoot. It stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to export and share it.

On-device AI

Features such as article summaries, automatic categories and translation are produced entirely on your device using Apple Intelligence (Apple Foundation Models). The article text processed by these features is not sent to us or to any third-party AI service, and it is not used to train any cloud model.

Fetching feeds and articles

To deliver content, the app connects directly from your device to the feed and website URLs you choose to follow. Those third-party servers necessarily receive standard network request information (such as your IP address and a user-agent) as part of delivering the content, exactly as a web browser would. Their handling of that information is governed by their own privacy policies. FeedMuse does not add identifiers to these requests.

Purchases

Premium is sold as an in-app purchase (a one-time "Lifetime" purchase or an auto-renewable subscription). Payments and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. We receive only the anonymous entitlement information StoreKit provides to determine whether Premium is active on your device.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, the app schedules local notifications on your device for new articles and, for Premium users, a daily digest. Notifications are generated locally; we do not operate a push server that profiles you.

Children

FeedMuse is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because your content lives in your device and your private iCloud, you remain in control of it. You can delete feeds and data in the app at any time, and remove all app data by deleting the app and its iCloud data from your Apple account. As we hold no personal data about you on our servers, there is nothing on our side to export or erase.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
